The chullo is a shape from the mountains, made against cold and wind. The earflaps keep the wind out, and the knit is dense enough to hold heat without being so stiff that it starts to chafe.
Alpaca yarn is warm, light and hard-wearing, so the ratio of warmth to weight comes out well: your head and ears stay warm without anything pressing. The fibre is soft, so sensitive skin manages it too.
For active days, travel and ordinary winter wear.

Care
