Alpaca fur decorations are small handmade pieces with fur as silky as our hides: alpaca fur animal figures for the shelf, baby alpaca soft toys 15 to 30 cm for a child and alpaca fur keyrings for a bag. Each figure is hand-sewn in Cusco from real alpaca hide, not faux fur, so it does not shed or build up static. Why choose an alpaca fur figure
A soft toy whose fur does not come loose and does not smell is rare. Alpaca fur is long and dense, stays anchored in the hide and bounces back with a shake. For children under three we recommend supervision, as with any soft toy.
Where our decorations come from
Sewn by artisans in the Cusco region of Peru from alpaca hide offcuts and smaller hides that come only from animals lost to natural causes. Read about our principles.
How to care for alpaca fur figures
Do not wash. Shake, air, comb the fur gently. Dab stains with a damp cloth and mild soap, dry at room temperature.
Is the soft toy suitable for a baby?
The fur does not irritate skin and there is no lanolin. As with any fur toy, we recommend supervision for infants.
Is every figure identical?
Shape and size yes, fur colour and pattern no, because every hide is different. On request we send a photo before dispatch.
